Can I Hook Up My Lcd Monitor And Lcd Hdtv At The Same Time?

I have a geforce ti4200 video card. I have my lcd monitor hooked up to the dvi output. Could I hook up my hdtv to the vga output at the same time? Does the video card send out a signal through both outputs or just the one that is in use?

  1. u must be able to configure it so that it can display the image on both the screens.

  2. Yes you can set up your videocard, LCD monitor and HDTV TV in dual monitor configuration. There could be some problems with connecting HDTV – I tried VGA to RGB composite in the past and it didn’t work for me – there was a conflict with color space or something like that. I would advise to get a new videocard with 2 DVI outputs, something like AGP version of NVidia 6600GT.

  3. The newer drivers allow for you to send a video signal to both ports.
The only issue is that if you plan on doing any gaming on the LCD tv, it will be at too high of a resolution for a ti4200 to run smoothly.
