What you need is a movie/TV calibration DVD. If you happen to be near a Blockbuster store, go and rent a Disney DVD, "The Incredibles," in which there's a "Set Up" program called "THX Optimizer." Go through the whole setup process, from contrast, brightness, color and tint; making sure that your room lighting is exactly what you want during this calibration process. The end result is a TV which is calibrated to motion picture standards. Your Samsung will look just spectacular!
Good luck!

It all depends on your source. You have a hig-def tv that supports up to a 720p or 1080i signal. The best picture you can recieve is a 720p or 1080i viewing signal. For one, if you have just an aerial antenna, to get a better picture you either have to 1. get a bigger or stronger antenna or 2. changes the settings on your lcd through your tv picture setup. The same is used for Analog cable (Cable without a seperate box) Coaxial is ok, but if your looking the best way to display your tv programming, follow these steps. If your using either a digital tv box or sattelite box, to get the best picture posisble you have to hook it up through an HDMI cord. If your box has it, it will say by the port HDMI output, if not the second best picture quality way of hooking it up is through componet video (Red, Blue and Green RCA jacks) with a red/white RCA jack. Most boxes that are DVR or support high definition have Componet or HDMI outputs. If you dont have a cable box or sattelite recieve that has Componet or HDMI output you have to resort to using Composite video (Yellow, Red and White RCA jacks). When hooking a tv up through any of these sources, you have to use one of the video inputs when doing so. You should be able to find any of the cords yoru looking for at any major dept. store such as Sears, Walmart, Kmart etc.

Are you on the cable or do you have an antenna. You have to have an HDTV antenna. Below is a company that makes antennas for HDTVs

First are you receiving an HD broadcast (either from an hd antenna, cable or satellite hookup)? You won't get your best picture until you do this.
Second if the picture settings are what has you worried, get an HDTV calibration dvd from your local electronics store. This will walk you through getting the color and contrast settings optimal.
